If you want to go fast, go alone,

if you want to go far, go together.

African Proverb

These are difficult times, especially for those of us awake, aware and responsive enough to really feel what is happening around us. We need to be honest. There are times when each of us is challenged… we see the headlines in the news: the latest compounding catastrophic shift in climate, the latest extinction notification, the latest economic projections, the latest IPCC or Planetary Thresholds Report, the latest flashpoint of social unrest, the latest region of geopolitical strife, the latest techno-utopian proposal, the latest ill-informed political promise… and we think, what’s the point? Why would I go on? Will this make a difference?

It is times like this that we draw on others that also see and feel what we do.

Luckily not everybody we know is ‘down’ at the same time, and it really helps to have someone who can hold you, speak with you, co-regulate, encourage you, assist with a mundane task that would simply be too much right now…

Encourage – early 15c., from Old French encoragier “make strong, hearten,” from en- “make, put in” + corage “courage, heart”

Renaee Churches - And Now What

I first got to know Anne and Neil on a 2021 New Year’s Eve, Deep Adaptation Zoom call. I remember playing music on this call and seeing the tears glisten in their eyes after hearing one beautiful piece and I knew I had found kindred spirits on my journey. Their warmth, humour and tender hearts drew me in and since that time we have connected many more times over Zoom for long chats. I have assisted them in refining and developing their website further and got to know David as well in the process and I have so enjoyed being part of this team and helping them bring forth this amazing service into the world. I will continue to hover in their orbit and be part of the unfolding Courageous Conversations.

I met Anne and Neil at the 9th International r3.0 Conference in Amsterdam in September 2022, and instantly clicked with them on both human and professional levels. As I see it, we all feel called to action by the gap between mainstream corporate sustainability ambition levels and what-needs-to-be-done, and sense we are uniquely positioned to deliver systems leadership – a key ingredient in bringing about the immediate, radical systems change that science has been telling us is our only shot at securing a liveable and just future.

We have since reconnected to explore opportunities for partnership – and organically formed a most symbiotic and complementary relationship.

On a personal level, And Now What have hand-held me during my own process of discovering how I must show up – and leverage my gifts – vis-a-vis the history-defining challenge ahead of us, an experience that has been truly empowering and nothing short of life-changing.

We complement each other’s strengths in developing awareness-building, inspirational and how-to content that speaks to business leaders, leaders in sustainability consulting and an emerging movement of activist consultants: bringing together a potent alchemy of deep conceptual understanding, systems leadership approaches, business acumen and generating novel, cutting-edge, actionable approaches to facing our shared predicament with integrity; focusing on addressing real world problems and catering to real world needs. Witnessing the potential of this collaboration is electrifying.

I feel privileged and honoured to be walking this path with And Now What, cannot wait to see our joint efforts come into fruition, doing our part in shaping the world.

Thank you!
